Daft Punk @ Even Further (1996)

30-minute video of an epic Daft Punk performance in Wisconsin, back in 1996. That's before their breakthrough and even before the release of their debut album, Homework. They weren't already wearing helmets in that period. It's Thomas Bangalter who is being filmed all the time. Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo is standing next to him on the right. Amazing what these guys did more than a decade ago. Let them play exactly the same set today and the crowd still goes nuts! Love it.

Daft Punk // Remix After All

What started as a vague idea between some individual music bloggers sprouted into a full-blown remix project for Daft Punk's infamous third album Human After All (2005). The idea was born from the sense that the official but strictly limited remix compilation Human After All: Remixes (2006), which only came out in Japan, didn't completely satisfy fans of the band and remix aficionados. These bloggers thereby took the initiative to create this unofficial remix album. Each of them has chosen one track from the album and has then searched for a producer they thought would be the best to remix 'their' song:

Aer OBAMA (video)

Here's a nice stop motion video of a Daft Punk/Obama mash up of Adam Freeland. It was made by GOLD and based on the imaginative stylings of forward thinking toy artists Dalek, Bill McMullen and Kubrick. All of the images where shot in LA during the last months. The piece is "a labor of love that invites everyone to join in or create their own celebration today".

Within a few hours Barack Hussein Obama will be sworn in as the 44th president of the United States. He will be the first African American who moves into the White House as president. It is therefore an important day which - for many - is a miracle of American democracy.
