Still in disbelief over the sudden death of DJ Mehdi, who passed away last week after the roof of his home collapsed (while reportedly celebrating the birthday of his friend and dj companion Riton). Mehdi was only 34 years old. He was a well respected and influential dj/producer who crossed the bounderies between hip-hop & electro and collaborated with big names like Daft Punk, Chromeo, Cassius & Justice.
He was signed to Ed Banger Records, label of his friend Pedro Winter (aka Busy P), on which he released his second and most successful album Lucky Boy. In 2010 he teamed up with Riton and formed Carte Blanche. He was married to French artist Fafi.
